Pennine
View is situated in the Blacker Hill community of Barnsley. This up and
coming area over the last five years has been regenerated with various executive
housing developments. This once little mining village is now a sought after
area. Blacker Hill also has enjoys the facilities of an offsted registered
nursery. It is within easy
access of the neighbouring village of Hoyland, with an array
of shops, a large selection of schools/nurseries, post office and well
equipped leisure centre.
At the next
village of Elsecar, you can find the Elsecar heritage centre, a classic piece of
Elsecars history showing how the earl Fitzwilliam influenced the way the
residents in the village live their lives today, it features the Elsecar
steam railway exhibition plus a range of shops and crafts.
Elsecar
also boasts a children’s play park with a nine hole pitch and putt golf
course.
Next to the
park is the Elsecar reservoir, which was originally built to serve the
dearne and dove canal.
Pennine View is also located
close to the national lottery “amazing space” award winning Trans Pennine
Trail, fantastic for walking/cycling/horse riding.
Pennine View is ideally
located for commuters; this is due to its location only minutes from the M1
junction 36, dearne valley park way and A1. They all serve neighbouring
towns and cities of Sheffield, Wakefield, Doncaster, Leeds, and Manchester.
